Pike carries a small bottle of high quality Canadian whisky with him wherever he gos. Its a good luck charm. Well one faithful day Pike was forced down into enemy territory after a badly executed mission. Hew quickly set fire to his plane and ran to the nearest house he could see. I knocked on the door and quickly entered. Unfortunately several German soldiers were using the house as lodgings and he was quickly taken prisoner.

A few hours later he was being marched to a truck that had arrived out front. Thats when he heard them, several machines dove from the sky and strafed the enemy truck that was only a few meters away. He dove for cover. Most of the enemy around him where dead. The planes came back around and one came in to land. A two seater has luck would have it. WE rushed to his mate and hopped quickly into the machine. They swiftly took of and soon landed at home.

All in all Pike missed lunch and several cups of tea. He was very upset.

what a shame, a fine guy. I have some footage somewhere of his second-last and last flight if it is desired..

and from what I got there, I think we should train a bit defensive behaviour, because basically a cause of tragic death here was a) the lack of checking six (as a general rule, about every 10-15 seconds throw a look aft, it really really helps) and inadequate defensive maneuvering: as a rule of thumb: when surprised, still break hard... preferably into the side of the enemy, but if you hadn´t seem him coming, don´t sit there looking where the bullets came from, do something maneuvery first!

sadly, the stats did not register my hits on the albi that finally killed our brave man propperly, infact if you look at the sorties page http://www.stats.syndicatesquadron.org/sortie/395488/ you see it says 3 bullets hit of 0 fired.. I think it was just a bad day all in all
