TrackIR 5 - profiles and setup for ROF

Post by GenMarkof007 on Thu Jan 29, 2015 1:01 am

Hi all,

I got my TrackIR 5 last night and did a few fly out test in ROF to see how the setup and profiles works.
After some reading and viewing videos on Youtube, I was wondering if we could start a new topic on how you setup your TrackIR 5 and if you have a few settings to help other DD members (could be to have it more smoother when moving your head,or any other tips...).

Also, I found out that we can save and send TIR 5 profiles... so why not do a small test to see who have the best TIR 5 setup.

Cheers

I'll have to look, but I put the profile on the one recommended for flight sims and I set it at 3.5 and 8 for smoothing.

Not sure about an Ace born, but after a few fly out mission, I must say that following a prey is way better, then trying to find him! Wink
Did some setup last night to get it at 75%, but for now, I see a huge change when flying.
I've got around 7 TIR 5 profiles from the Rise of Flight members post (Forum).
If anyone would like to test them, I could ZIP them, and send you those profiles.

Cheers

I would like to have them. I am having trouble spotting the enemy.

I only have a couple I currently use in flight sims.  The sensitivity is higher than default on both, to varying degrees, and I made it easier to move the head up/down and side-to-side (the x & y axes).

I've tried other peoples' TIR profiles before and they were always a bit off for my preference.  So mine may seem weird or too touchy to others.  But if you want to try them, PM me your email and I'll send them over.

Adjusting the curves is pretty easy once you figure out how to manipulate the lines on the bar graph. It will probably take steady tweaking to get them to your perfect preference but you'll quickly notice improvements after adjusting them. Just make sure you make a copy of the current one and modify/save that, keeping an original to start from in case you want to go back.

After using it for awhile you'll get it setup just right.

I sent two profiles over, SeaLord.

I typically use the one labelled "Default2" for ROF, in combination with the in-game view 'smoothing' set to 1.
