Israeli M48 Patton

Post by Dukely on Mon Jan 12, 2015 4:28 am

I was planning to make this project into a video but I was working on it at such random times, it would have slowed me down and I really wanted to finish it. I did the build itself years ago I think it might be a Revell model. I have so many American tanks I wanted to do something different. I found an Israeli paint scheme in Wargames Illustrated and thought that might be cool. So here it is! Its got a really basic paint job using Vallejo paints. Black undercoat. Basecoat is Green Grey. Drybrush highlight of Buff. And the Jerry Cans where German camo beige. It could use some detail work, rust, mud, and damage. I wanted to get it to a somewhat complete state to make some space in my work area.

My dad had a diorama of the M48. I always liked to go into his home office and look at it.

Nice.

I recall a small National Guard station between a place I worked and the grocery store.  They had a Patton sitting right next to the street, facing it, so I would gawk at it every time I went to the store on the way home. Or maybe it was an M-47; they look rather similar.

Looks smaller than I you would expect.  Especially the front hull part where the driver's located.  Looks extremely cramped.  Must've needed short people in the armored divisions back then! Razz

It probably still helps today if your smaller.
