Have you seen Hearts of Oak? I've been working on the project as a writer for over a year now!

This is a good looking game too! I'm glad we are seeing more Age of Sail games.

I recently tried Caribbean. Which is built in the Mount and Blade engine. Its still Early Access so it's a bit rough.

I just sent an email off to Game Labs the people making Naval Action. They also made Ultimate General that game a played a few months back. That game was great and I'm sure this one will be great too.

I've been watching Hearts Of Oak and Naval Action. Originally thought they were the same game ..?

I'm gonna wait until they're at least in Beta before jumping. I did have some fun with a small guild on Pirates of the Burning Sea years ago, despite some cons and quickly grinding through to max level to get into port battles. And the ship combat was a bit less realistic than these.

I played Pirates of the Burning Sea too. I'm hoping Hearts of Oak is going to be available soon, but they have had problems keeping it going, since its all the work is voluntary.

I've decided to pick up Naval Action in it's pre-release form sometime soon, after seeing too many videos of it. Was trying to resist but it's a subject I've always enjoyed. Just hope I don't get burned out on the grind before it's official release and the final wipe.

Unfortunately, PayPal flipped out and froze their transactions. Reportedly supposed to be fixed in the next day or two. Even then.. I don't think they send out codes but once a week for the Alpha so it'll still be a hurry up and wait situation.

I would love to try this game out. They never answered my email so maybe they thought I was a small fish or they aren't giving out keys to YouTubers.

No idea.

The game is nowhere near feature complete. They plan on adding an open world MMO-like experience and that's not even in there yet. Pretty much an Alpha at the moment. Although the battles are definitely functional and enjoyable right now AFAIK.

I was going to wait until it was closer to being complete but after watching a couple vids of the multi-player PvP battles, I knew that I would enjoy just those on occasion in the meantime.

I've also got back into some Mount & Blade Warband:  Napoleonic Wars recently.  The multi-player is exceptionally fun and occasionally very laugh-worthy.

Between these two games, I have much muzzle-loading, bayonet stabbing fun.
